Support
for Student Travel
UPDATE: 29 March 2001 ... We have received tentative notice from the US Dept. of Energy that
they will support our workshop with $5000.
These DOE funds will be used to:
* Disseminate workshop results
* Support graduate students and postdocs who live in the U.S.
In giving support, graduate students will receive priority over postdocs. Two levels of support will be available:
(1) Waiver of registration fee.
(2) Reimbursement of airfare, ground transportation, and lodging costs.
To apply for support, please send an email to
mrogers@newton.physics.uiowa.edu.
Please indicate in your request:
(a) Do you live in the U.S.?
(b) Are you a graduate student or a postdoc?
If postdoc, when did you receive your PhD?
(c) Are you submitting an abstract?
(d) Do you have other means of paying for your travel to the workshop?
(e) Are you requesting:
a registration fee waiver?
reimbursement of travel expenses?
both?
Note:
* We are permitted to use these funds only for persons who live in the U.S.
* We apologize that we have no funds to support travelers from other countries.
* The registration fee is required for all attendees, from all countries. The only exception is for graduate students or postdocs living in the U.S. who receive a waiver after applying to us.
